The UPMC Kane Laboratory, a certified and accredited lab with a highly qualified and versatile staff, provides several types of testing including:
- Chemistry
- Immunochemistry
- Hematology
- Immunohematology
- Coagulation
- Serology
- Microbiology
Expert Staff
Testing within the laboratory is performed and supervised by medical technologists, and medical laboratory technicians. Our staff is educated and certified in:
- Laboratory medicine
- Department of Transportation (DOT) and non-DOT urine drug screen collection
- Breath alcohol collection
- Phlebotomy
- Arterial blood gas collection
Multiphasic (Community) Testing
Because of the importance of keeping our community healthy and informed, the UPMC Kane Lab conducts a series of multiphasic blood screenings in partnership with Rotary Clubs in the communities UPMC Kane serves. These screenings are offered throughout the year and provide area residents with a low cost method to monitor chronic illnesses, including:
- Diabetes
- High cholesterol
- Heart problems
- Thyroid problems
- Kidney functioning
- PSA screenings for prostate cancer
- Vitamin D deficiency
- Screening for hepatitis C

Routine outpatient visits are Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturday, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
A physician must order all laboratory testing. Contact your physician to discuss your lab testing needs.
